Stan Matthew is from the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, which is one of the 14 First Nations that comprise the Nuu-chah -nulth people on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, BC. Stan has emerged from a dysfunctional upbringing with life philosophies that encourage self awareness, self identity, and a holistic belief that people can recover from their past and move forward into their future. He is known for his wonderful sense of humor and his engaging methods of bringing others out of their comfort zone in order to join him in bringing laughter to any group setting.

Stan’s experience in the personal development field spans an impressive 30 years! Following a very wide variety of training, he began counselling people suffering from trauma and addictions. In addition he provided various counselling services for children, youth, adults, and elders. Stan respects and values helping people and uses humor as one of the tools to guide his way through. He is currently employed at Nuu Chah Nulth Tribal Council with Teechuktl Mental Health Program. Stan completed his Hypnosis certification to become a Hypnotherapist in June 2009 with Cross Roads Institute. In 2014 acquired a Practitioner of NLP/Timeline Therapy/Hypnosis certification with The Tad James Company.

Stan has a down to earth manner that is well balanced by his zany, humorous side. Through the years, his life journey has cultivated his kind, caring, encouraging, and empowering way of living. He truly believes that anyone can achieve their true potential regardless of age, race, or background.

Stan is a fascinating role model and has a unique style of delivering seminars. He is an inspirational, motivational, knowledgeable presenter. It is truly challenging to walk away from a conversation or a workshop with Stan and not feel motivated.
