My given name is Et’áts’inkhälme, given by my grandmother Gertie Tom. My English name is, Tina Williams. My grandparents are late George Peters, late Field Johnny and late Renee Peters. My late mothers name is Jessie McKeown and my late step dad’ name is Joe McKeown. My biological fathers name is Maurice Reeves. I belong to the Crow Clan. I was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and spent many summers in Carmacks, Yukon as a child. My mother attended residential school and I grew up in a home where these values were taught. I began my healing as a young mom because I had a desire for my children to learn some different things.
In order for this to happen I learned I needed to learn about my inner landscape and what made me tick. This awareness was followed by therapy, group work and education. I have earned my Masters in Social Work in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency, through university of Toronto, a program designed in collaboration with Jane Middelton-Moz; a world renowned community interventionist. During this masters, Jane was one of my instructors, she continues to mentor me; I completed my internship with her. My goal is to share my story with a touch of theory and practical knowledge I learned through my workshop and one on one sessions.
